Q. Who is your sporting hero?

A. Thierry Henry. I like him as a person, he has great charisma and is a very intelligent guy. Football wise he is a great technical player and, while he has had to play in a different position at Barcelona, at Arsenal he was one of the greatest.

Q. If you weren’t player what would you be?

That’s a difficult question as I was focused on football from a young age. I like music so maybe something do to with that.

Q. Are you going to do a World Cup rap song?

Ha, no. I heard about both John Barnes raps (from Liverpool club anthem 'the Anfield Rap' and New Order’s World Cup song 'World in Motion'). I thought they were quite funny. I don’t think it’s for me though! I will keep my own stuff as a proper track and not really an anthem or football song for Liverpool or Holland.

Q. What is on your iPod right now?

I love all kinds of music, actually. It’s hard to say as I have stuff from different genres all the time. But Lady Gaga is one of my favourites at the moment.

Q. If your house was burning down what possession would you save?

It would have to be my laptop. Everything is on there!

Q. What was your most embarrassing moment in football?

That’s easy as unfortunately it’s recent - when I got a red card in the first half of the Benfica match (for pushing Luisao in the face during the 2-1 Europa League quarter-final first-leg defeat in Lisbon). It was my first sending off and I felt terrible afterwards. Thankfully we won in the end (after a 4-1 turnaround at Anfield).

Q. What is your favourite karaoke song?

(Without hesitating) You’ll Never Walk Alone.

Q. What’s the best freebie or gift you’ve blagged as a football player?

Hmmm. That’s a difficult one (hesitates). I don’t get given all that much stuff, believe it or not, let me think... I’d say the tickets I received for a Beyonce concert in London. I’m a big fan of her and it was a nice treat!
